What Are Natural Body Lotions

Natural body lotions are those products that do not have any artificial oils or compounds in them. They are often unscented and if they are, it is only a result of infused herbs that have been added to the mix. This type of lotion is considered to be the best for sensitive skin as it is often hypoallergenic and do not have any irritating chemicals. But, is it really the best for you? Of course, nothing is better than what Mother Nature has created. The sad thing is that, some producers claim that they make all organic body lotions, when in fact they make use of synthetic materials that aims to improve the performance of what you are buying. When you are looking for a true unrefined product, try reading the label. All the ingredients mentioned should be of organic origin in one way or another. It is better to watch out for ingredients that you recognize and you can pronounce. Don't settle for a product that has the slightest hint of synthetic chemical like petroleum based products - they cannot be considered as unprocessed.

You should look for certain ingredients that will surely benefit your skin. Organic balms, moisturizers, salves and body creams, almond and milks are made out of a base product. This is the ingredient that will help bind all of the rest. The most commonly used base ingredient for natural lotions are Cocoa butter, almond, and Shea Butter. These are organically occurring extracts that are safe for use topically (Cocoa butter is even an ingredient in chocolate). You should also look for products like almond oil and other types of emollients that help smooth out the skin. If you like using scented lotions look for products that have Essential Oils like lavender, rose, chamomile, and others.
